Love of a Father

I was looking through the pictures that I have taken over the course of a month when I came across these photos.

I absolutely love Olivia’s face in them.  She exudes pure joy when she looks up at her “Papa.”

She loves spending time with him.  She is overjoyed when she gets to play with him.

She loves knowing that he is looking down at her and caring for her.

She feels loved just by knowing that she is in his presence because she can feel his love.

There is a complete difference in her demeanor when Makia isn’t around her.

Her smile isn’t as bright, she is a little more quiet, a lot more whinny, she dances less, and she sleeps much lighter.

She misses him, and she constantly asks, “Papa? Papa?”

It got me thinking about how we as humans are wired to yearn for the same type of love from our heavenly Father whether we realize it or not.  When we are in a relationship with Him, Christ gives us more pep in our step.  When we face trials in our life, if our hope is truly in the Lord, we should still be able to smile, dance, and be overjoyed because we should have confidence that He is there with us.  Just like Olivia feels loved by knowing that she is in Makia’s presence, so should we feel loved by merely knowing that if we call upon Him, He will always be there for us.  When we don’t feel Him close we worry more and we get weighted down by the problems of the world.  Like Olivia calls for her father in his absence so should we call upon our Father until we can feel Him near.  These pictures were a great reminder of the type of adoration we should all have with Christ and how we should all feel because our Heavenly Father adores us all.

"Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it" Luke 18:17
